TEACHER'S BLOG

The following is the opening of a history poem about a particular historical figure. If you like tokens, tell me which empire this figure ruled and you will probably receive one (unless three others have come before you!):

Kubla Khan

Or, a vision in a dream. A Fragment.

In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
A stately pleasure-dome decree:
Where Alph, the sacred river, ran
Through caverns measureless to man
Down to a sunless sea.
So twice five miles of fertile ground
With walls and towers were girdled round;
And there were gardens bright with sinuous rills,
Where blossomed many an incense-bearing tree;
And here were forests ancient as the hills,
Enfolding sunny spots of greenery.

7th Grade only: Above is a depiction of a beautiful Japanese artform. Tell Mr. Campy what it is and you just may get nice reward!

8th grade only: While everyone is pretty familiar with the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, the picture above is of the document that actually established the original government of the newly independent 13 colonies. Do a little research to figure out what this document is called then tell Mr. Campy, and you just may get a little reward!

Some days history class just gets a little weird...

These 8th graders are busy planning out their "Bill Into Law" sketch.

The 7th grade enjoys Mr. Funt's special presentation on Japanese theatre to go along with our East Asia Unit.
