After-School Enrichment Class Sign-Ups: Session 1

We are delighted to offer our Fall Session of After-School Enrichment Classes! These are weekly classes offered after school in a variety of disciplines. We will continue with many of the most popular classes (Drawing & Painting, Flag Football, Chess) and will be offering several brand new classes (Capoeira, Sewing, Acting & Improv, and more)! Choose your child's grade level below to view full class details.

Classes for Session 1 will begin the week of Monday, September 12th and conclude on Thursday, November 17th (with the week of Monday, November 28th - Friday, December 2nd for any make-up classes).

We hope you will sign your child up for one or more classes! Don't delay as often classes reach capacity rather quickly.

Please use this form to sign up by 5pm on Friday, September 9th, and contact Julie Lanctot, Enrichment Class Coordinator, with any questions.

No classes on:

  • Monday, September 26 - in observance of Rosh Hashanah
  • Wednesday, October 5 - in observance of Yom Kippur

Policies:

  • Auditing: If the class is not filled by the first class meeting, your child, at no charge, may audit the first class of any session. Should they decide to join, the full class fee is due. Class fees may not be prorated and there are no refunds or exchanges after the first class.
  • Refund Policy: Refunds are only available after the first week of Enrichment classes. After that point, there will no longer be refunds, including prorated refunds.

Monday Offerings - 9 Class Meetings
Drawing & Painting w/ Ms. Singletary

Class open to 1st & 2nd grade students. Minimum number of students is six (6), maximum is 15. 3:30–4:30pm. This class is designed for students who love art and would like more time and instruction in drawing and painting. Students will use a variety of drawing and painting materials, from pastels to oil paint. Whether working from reference materials or real life, students will strengthen their skills while having fun in a nurturing and relaxed environment. $165.00 per student (includes materials fee). Class dates: Mondays, 9/12, 9/19, {no class 9/26}, 10/3, 10/10, 10/17, 10/24, 10/31, 11/7, and 11/14.

Heroes Athletic Club w/ Mr. Eleftheriades

Class open to 3rd - 5th grade students. Minimum number of students is six (6), maximum is 20. 3:30–4:30pm. What does it mean to be a hero?  What traits do heroes have in common?  How do we get our children to attain these traits while having fun and being active? Heroes Athletic Club provides children with opportunities for continuous improvement in physical strength, mental habits, and confidence building, creating resilience and heroism. Our curriculum focuses on implementing heroic traits seamlessly into the fitness instruction for the day. In addition to building strength, kids will also practice teamwork, learn about different muscle groups, and practice these skills in the real world between class sessions.  Each class our heroes are active, learning, growing, and most importantly, having fun! $155.00 per student (includes materials fee). Class dates: Mondays, 9/12, 9/19, {no class 9/26}, 10/3, 10/10, 10/17, 10/24, 10/31, 11/7, and 11/14.

Amusement Park LEGO Engineering 2 w/ Professor Egghead

Class open to Kindergarten - 3rd grade students. Minimum number of students is seven (7), maximum is 14. 3:15–4:15pm. Step into the gates, strap on your seatbelt, and come join the Egghead Amusement Park Engineering Team!  Each class, Eggheads will try to pass a new LEGO™ engineering challenge by designing, building, and then testing crazy rides and attractions. Using a wide variety of LEGO™ bricks and specialty pieces, we'll build huge spinning Merry-Go-Rounds, Mega Ferris Wheels, Water Slides, Drop Towers, and everything in between as we design giant Amusement Parks! Then, we'll test our creations like a real theme park engineering team by spinning, sliding, and breaking down our builds. At the end of the session, they’ll receive their official Park Engineer Degree - proving they’re ready to build the toughest challenges! $210.00 per student. Class dates: Mondays, 9/12, 9/19, {no class 9/26}, 10/3, 10/10, 10/17, 10/24, 10/31, 11/7, and 11/1

Class open to 3rd - 6th grade students. Minimum number of students is six (6), maximum is 16. 2:30-3:30pm. Ready, set, blast off! Explore the Universe as we launch everything from Film Canister Rockets, to Water Bottle Blasters, Business Card Boomerangs, and much more! Our adventures will take us to Titan, Mars, and a Galactic Cluster as we learn about comets, constellations, and our galaxy! This class is out of this world! $210.00 per student (includes $25 lab fee). Class dates: Tuesdays, 9/13, 9/20, 9/27, 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25, {no class 11/1}, 11/8, and 11/15.

Capoeira w/ Nexplore Enrichment

Class open to 1st - 5th grade students. Minimum number of students is eight (8), maximum is 18. 2:15-3:15pm. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines elements of combat, acrobatics, music, dance and rituals in a very elegant and dynamic way. During a Capoeira session, students will learn martial arts techniques, discover acrobatics, play musical instruments and explore cultures. Capoeira improves coordination, builds flexibility, enhances concentration, boosts self-confidence and promotes an active lifestyle. This unique technique and educational approach to fitness makes Capoeira a martial art like no other! $290.00 per student. Class dates: Tuesdays, 9/13, 9/20, 9/27, 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25, {no class 11/1}, 11/8, and 11/15.

Music Adventures w/ Los Angeles School of Music

Class open to Kindergarten - 2nd grade students. Minimum number of students is six (6), maximum is 12. 2:15-3:15pm. In this class, students will be introduced to music and the ukulele in a fun and supportive environment. Music helps your child build self-esteem, grow emotional awareness, and develop greater compassion and connection with others. Taught by talented instructors who are great with kids, we make sure that learning music is fun! $380.00 per student. Class dates: Tuesdays, 9/13, 9/20, 9/27, 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25, {no class 11/1}, 11/8, and 11/15.

Wednesday Offerings - 8 Class Meetings
Pokémon w/ Mr. Greene

Class open to 3rd - 5th grade students. Minimum number of students is six (6), maximum is 18. 3:30-4:30pm.  In Mr. Greene's Pokémon class, learn how to defeat your opponents, and become the ultimate Pokémon master. Students will build decks and learn how to fairly and strategically trade cards from their collections with their fellow trainers. Pokémon is sure to be a favorite amongst the students! $120.00 per student. Class dates: Wednesdays, 9/14, 9/21, 9/28, {no class 10/5}, 10/12, 10/19, 10/26, {no class 11/2}, 11/9, and 11/16.

ACE Escape (Escape Room Class) w/ ACE Enrichment

Class open to 1st - 5th grade students. Minimum number of students is six (6), maximum is 14. 3:15–4:15pm. Do you like puzzles? How about working as a team to solve mysteries and master riddles to see if you have what it takes to beat the clock?! Inspired by the popular Escape Room concept, ACE ESCAPE is an interactive and team building class, focused on getting kids moving, thinking outside the box, and working together! Each day a new story/challenge will be presented. Go undercover to expose a heist operation, see if you can unlock the mysteries of time travel or escape the haul of a sinking pirate ship. In ACE ESCAPE, students will learn how to work together using logic and wit, to race the clock in order to solve whatever challenge or mystery the day might bring. So bring your brilliance and skills. Do you have what it takes to escape? $190.00 per student. Sewing w/ Miss Shannon

Class open to Kindergarten-5th grade students. Minimum number of students is seven (7); maximum is 18. 3:15-4:15pm. Learn to hand sew and embroider with Miss Shannon’s Sewing.  First class teaches how to sew on a button.  Each class teaches a new skill with new projects.  Students will learn how to patch, whip stitch, French knots and basic construction.  All materials, supplies and sewing kits are provided. $245.00 per student. Class dates: Thursdays, 9/15, 9/22, 9/29, 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/10, and 11/17.

Chess w/ Parker-Anderson Enrichment

Class open to Kindergarten-4th grade students. Minimum number of students is six (6); maximum is 16. 3:15-4:15pm. We introduce chess in a fun and exciting way! We teach students at all levels to play chess and help them succeed in school by stimulating their problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and critical thinking. Includes exclusive booklets and worksheets. Win certificates, medals, and trophies!  $210.00 per student. Class dates: Thursdays, 9/15, 9/22, 9/29, 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/10, and 11/17.

Acting & Improv w/ Kelci Loring

Class open to 1st-3rd grade students. Minimum number of students is six (6); maximum is 25. 3:15-4:15pm. Improvisation is the art of acting, without a script. Does your child love playing pretend? Are they always making up silly stories? Do they come alive in front of an audience, or would they like to but nerves have held them back? This is the right class for them! We work together to use our imaginations to explore characters, make up stories, and play pretend. This class is a safe space to learn more about acting, fearlessly. We play theater games of all sorts to work on creating characters, storylines, and to have a good laugh while doing it. This class also encourages teamwork, confidence, public speaking, and personal creativity. And, you might recognize Kelci when she was teaching at Wesley with Professor Egghead. She is thrilled to be back! $108.00 per student. Class dates: Thursdays, 9/15, 9/22, 9/29, 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/10, and {no class 11/17}.

Flag Football w/ Coach Matt

Class open to 1st-3rd grade students.  Minimum number of students is six (6); maximum is 20. 3:15-4:15pm. Have fun with Coach Matt while learning to play flag football!  $135.00 per student. Class dates: Fridays, 9/16, 9/23, 9/30, 10/7, 10/14, 10/21, 10/23, 11/4, 11/11 and {no class 11/18}.
