We are excited to share that Wesley is now registered as a Junior Thespian Troupe, as part of the International Thespian Society! This is a national nonprofit with almost 100,000 theater students and professional members from all over the United States. Two of their main goals are to "honor student achievement in theatre" and to "enrich their theatre education experience." Schools with interested theater students may charter a Troupe, giving students access to recognition opportunities, professional development, competitions, and much more.
As a Junior Thespian Troupe, we are invited to participate in their annual Junior Thespian Festival on February 1, 2025 from 9:30am-5:30pm at the Orange County School of the Arts. This all-day event includes theater workshops on topics such as Acting, Technical Theatre, Shakespeare, Dance, Scene Study, Movement, Improv, Ensemble Work, Makeup, Costumes, Mime, and so much more. Students also have the opportunity to participate in various performance and production competitions. This year, Wesley would like to offer the opportunity to compete to our 8th Grade students.
If your child is interested in attending, please register them by using the form below by 5pm on Thursday, January 9. The cost for this full-day event is $35, which also covers a pizza lunch for your child. Miss Julie will be chaperoning and depending on numbers, may request another parent chaperone to come to the event.
