Visual and Performing Arts

Our Visual and Performing Arts department believes fervently that each student is an artist. Teachers encourage creativity in their classrooms and offer numerous student-driven opportunities for leadership in their subject areas. Self-expression, ensemble work, open-minded thinking and inclusivity are paramount in every Wesley arts classroom.

Wesley middle school students have access to a wide variety of visual and performing arts disciplines through specialist classes, electives, and after-school opportunities. Middle School students participate in required Music, Theater, and Visual Arts programming. They may expand their knowledge in these subject areas or dive into new disciplines, through elective classes such as Dance, Sketch Comedy, Calligraphy, Ukulele ensemble, and Songwriting, to name just a few.

Wesley subscribes to the importance of arts education, recognizing its impact on the emotional life of all students. Upon graduation, we send creative, innovative, problem-solving, and confident learners to high school, with the skills they’ve garnered serving them on any path they may take.
