Stencil Project

Students were able to view a variety of stencil art made by street artists. Then students made a sketch of a stencil idea, considering the background area as well. To start, students are painting their background first using acrylic and tempera paints. After redrawing the sketch on thicker paper students are carefully considering which areas they need to cut out using an exacto knife and which areas they should leave. This is a student driven project so cutting will depend on the individual design. The stencil in then taped or glued to the board before spraying into it outdoors.
