Objective: Lately we have been looking at different types of communities that people live in. We have been looking at what makes a community. Students have spent time researching the difference between a rural community and an urban community. 

 

At this time we will take a little detour. Students will be able to think about a place within their community that they truly enjoy. They should think about those details that make the place special for them. Once they have the place in mind they can draw and write about it using any materials available to them at home.

 

Example: If I were to work on this assignment it would be a tie that I would have to choose from. One place I love spending time is a book store. I don't have to buy anything. I could spend hours just looking. The other choice would be the movies. Similar to the reason I chose the book store, I love a good story, movies provide that for me.
