Message from the Search Committee

As promised, we have exciting news to report on the progress of the Head of School search.

The deadline for Head of School applications has passed, and we are currently reviewing submissions from among more than thirty applicants. Our search consultants are very pleased with the pool of candidates and have commented that the total number of applications exceeded their expectations. In addition, they noted there were more candidates of color and more current heads of school applying for the position than in most comparable searches.

There is exceptional diversity within the applicant pool, including gender, ethnicity, professional experience, and personal background. Of note, despite Wesley being a small school largely known only in the Los Angeles area, there are candidates from 12 states and one from outside the U.S.

We remain on schedule to complete the selection of Semi-Finalists by mid-March, and to have three Finalists ready to visit the campus in April to meet with Faculty and Parent groups as part of the interview process. Our hopes are very high that the next Head of School will begin work at The Wesley School on July 1, 2019.
