[ Wesley Community ]

In keeping with the School's mission to develop a sense of social responsibility, The Wesley School is very active with school-wide community service. Every year we participate in a canned food drive that starts in September and culminates at Thanksgiving for the local Food Pantry. We also collect toys for a toy drive at Christmas. The entire School participates in a Community Service Day in June. On that day, our buddy groups, students from the lower grades teamed up with older students, go out into the community and work at different locations around the Los Angeles area for a day.

In the classrooms, teachers develop interactive service-learning projects with specific organizations. They not only raise money to help support their particular efforts, but they also work in the classroom to learn from these experiences. Visit individual teacher pages for updates regarding each class's service learning projects.
