Located on the grounds of The First United Methodist Church of North Hollywood, Wesley is blessed with the many warm and lovely buildings in which we are housed. Chief among them is the sanctuary, home to our chapel program, and an integral part of who we are as a school. The Wesley School has no religious affiliation. The church and the school are both separate entities that share space and some community.
As our Mission Statement stresses, "The Wesley School seeks to instill in its students a strong intellectual, physical, and spiritual foundation." Three days each week we meet as a full school community in the sanctuary for chapel. Chapel is a time for a wide range of presentations and topics. Each month is characterized by a specific value, such as kindness, justice and fairness, honesty, thankfulness. Each year every class is responsible for at least two chapel presentations. Frequently grade levels combine for these offerings. Chapel is a time for sharing of announcements and birthdays. It is a time to learn about different religions, family heritages, and international customs. Our chapel program stresses universal values of kindness and responsibility. We celebrate family and each other. Chapel is open, and we welcome parents to come as often as possible.
